Smart Tips – How To Make Easy, Healthy Popsicles by Nancy Newcomer

Nancy Newcomer, Food Blogger & Radio Personality at NancyNewcomer.com, shares a smart tip about how to make easy, healthy, dairy-free popsicles that the whole family can enjoy! "Smart Tips" is produced by Geffner Productions. Please visit http to find out how to become a featured on-camera expert in your very own series of "Smart Tips" videos. Transcript: A lot of people ask me if I have a recipe for a non-dairy sugar free treat. Well in fact I do! In today’s smart tip I’m going to show you how to make a healthy popsicle! You’ll need 4 simple ingredients: one 14 ounce can of coconut milk, 2 cups of berries, a dash of vanilla, and 1/2 a banana. I love coconut milk – not only is it creamy and rich, it’s a perfect replacement for dairy. Today, I’m using 1/2 raspberries and 1/2 strawberries. You can pick whatever berry you like, whatever is in season and looks great. I like to add a little vanilla to the mixture – it really brings out the flavor of the berries. I love adding the banana because it adds a sweetness to the popsicles without anything artificial. Throw all these ingredients into your blender, whirl away, and when it’s thoroughly mixed, you pour them into these babies and then, a few hours later, you get one of these! I’m Nancy Newcomer. Come visit my website at www.NancyNewcomer.com – you can follow my blog, check out my recipes, and sign up for "Nancy’s Dish", my monthly newsletter. Thanks for watching!

Atkins Diet Recipes: Low Carb Jamaican Jerk Chicken (IF)

In partnership with FaveHealthyRecipes, I wanted to post one of the recipes I was inspired to make on my low carb cruise two weeks ago. On the Low Carb Cruise 2012, we spent 7 days at sea and at the following ports (Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel). Between the food on the cruise ship, the food in the port, and suggestions from other notable low carb cooks on the boat — particularly from Sweden home of LCHF movement, there was no shortage of inspiration. This recipe is a great way to get the flavors of the Caribbean wherever you happen to be. For even more healthy low carb entree recipes, FaveHealthyRecipes has a number of low carb ethnic recipes and would be perfect for any phase of Atkins or low carb diet. Cuisinart GR-4N

Cuisinart GR-4N Griddler For More Information Please Visit Amazon.com at www.amazon.com Product Features * 5-in-1countertop unit works as a contact grill, panini press, full grill, full griddle, and half grill/half griddle * Brushed stainless-steel housing; sturdy panini-style handle; floating cover to adjust to thickness of food * Removable and reversible nonstick cooking plates drain grease for healthy cooking; integrated drip tray * Adjustable temperature controls with indicator lights; gourmet recipes and scraping tool included * Plates, drip tray, and scraper are dishwasher-safe; 3-year limited warranty Improvement: The grease catcher used to be a little cup that had to be set under a spout on the side of the bottom plate. If it was positioned incorrectly, (or forgotten about), greased dripped out on the counter. The grease catcher is now integrated into the Griddler as a drawer-like device that can be pulled out to clean, and then put back in place for the next use. Improvement: The original G4 had two sets of plates – one flat set, one ridged set (for paninis). There is now one reversible set of plates (ridged on one side, flat on the other), and therefore no need to find a storage place for the plates not in use. The new plates have a good substantial weight. I don’t have the old ones here for comparison, but the quality of the plates certainly was not cheapened.
